Panormos, Crete

WEDNESDAY
View from the balcony of the Philoxenia Apartments

The front of the Philoxenia Block (we were at the back overlooking the pool).

My friendly bird perched on the roof top

The Bougainvilleas are a wonderful splash of colour on many of thE towns narrow streets.

There is a small church near the harbour which we haven't been in yet.

The harbour is quite picturesque from a distance but not very busy and functional rather than quaint when looked at closely

The 'Castle' overlooking the harbour - Panormos was known as Panormos Kasteli at one time after the seven towers and two gates whose ruins are now described as the Castle.

Sunset over the best of the three small beaches (about 7:30pm)

Taverna Fanari - someone taking advantage of the free wine offer (before having two too many glasses of Raki!)
