A very dry Hornecourt Wood

Heavy rain is forecast  for later today to break the recent spell of  dry hot weather but this morning when Skye and I went to Hornecourt Wood near Outwood, the ground was parched.

Looking across the field you could see Outwood Mill in the distance.

Skye wasn't too concerned about the weather

 

There was some shade in the wood.

There is also some tree clearance going on
