Sanderstead Station is a fine example of mid to late 1980's railway architecture which I felt was worthy of a visit tonight on the way home from work. This entailed catching the East Grinstead train from Victoria (instead of my normal train) and getting out at Sanderstead. I then took this photography and passed the time phoning my daughter before catching a train back to East Croydon and then finally a connecting train home.
If you believe the above you’ll believe anything – for some reason I got on the wrong train at Victoria, didn’t listen to any on train announcements until ‘the next stop will be Sanderstead’ at which point I made a somewhat undignified exit and had to wait over 20 minutes for a train back to East Croydon. A phone call to my daughter resulted in much laughter from her but not much sympathy.
