Kings Cross

I travelled to Stirling today, catching the train from Kings Cross. I had forgotten that the new 7500 m2 western concourse only opened to passengers a few days ago (on March 18). The roof is stunning.

The pictures do not do it justice - it is 20 m high, semi-circular and supported on 16 steel 'tree form' columns radiating from a central funnel. It was designed by John McAslan + Partners, engineered by Arup and built by Vinci.
The western concourse is more than three times the size of the old disjointed concourse.
